Sounds of rolling ocean waves filled his senses before the sting of sea water struck his nostrils to rouse the man from his blackened state. Callidus coughed and drew breath back into his waterlogged chest after expelling the ocean from his mouth. The warmth of the light baked him as the wet sand stuck to his body, Callidus opened his eyes to the blinding light as he struggled to clamour onto his knees in a daze.Callidus surveyed his surroundings in a delirious state to be greeted by the shores of some unknown land. Sandy beaches walled by white cliffs that shelved forest or jungle above sea level. A blurry silhouette of towers built along the outcrop of white stone pillars framed a strange city in the distance. A place that seemed unfamiliar.Blinking to one side, he spotted a pair of figures slowly wandering in his direction. As the two individuals approached, their questions of concern were muffled, but Callidus could only muster a single thought to his words..."Where am I?"

Personality

Callidus has a rather introverted and withdrawn behavior when it comes to meeting strangers in a foreign land, often stammering his words or failing to understand cultural nuances for many peoples when put on the spot.Despite that, he is known to become more expressive among friends or people he trusts. Though eager to entertain his friends with conversation and join their escapades, he prefers to return back to solitude, or with his partner Primam, in order to relax and recharge.Callidus is known to be a pacifist by nature and prefers to resolve conflict without violence or injury. Since his recent ventures, however, this notion to preserve the safety and well-being of others has been tested when hostile foes threaten his friends.

Backstory

An outlander hailing from the star of Eos, Callidus woke upon the shores of La Noscea and taken in by the Arcanists that discovered him. Only a select few learned of his true plight and considered it best to keep his origins secret while they offer a guiding hand toward his recovery. Later, it was discovered that Callidus had quite the affinity for aetheric equation after applying his technical engineering mindset to the structure of his aether.Despite his accomplishment in carving out a small living for himself in the walls of Limsa Lominsa, Callidus sought out others like him that were displaced upon this star, while trying to keep his origins private from others that might not understand. Rumours began to circulate about an individual with interesting talents in "warping" to their weapon would venture from the distant lands of Hingashi to Limsa Lominsa for locally exclusive materials. Determined to track down this individual, Callidus saved up every gil in his possession to travel out and find this person.Upon discovering one of his long time companions, Primam Chorus, Callidus has since begun researching a means to venture back to their own star. Harnessing the strength of his aether and dabbling in methods to traverse worlds with even more, this journey is bound to be fraught with all manner of dangers and temptations. Callidus only hopes that Primam will remain by his side in this endeavour to find a way home.

However, Callidus has since ventured to discover different methods of using aether for personal research, perhaps a new spell or skill might pique his interest.→ When he's not traveling for research, Callidus enjoys cooking at home by following detailed recipes to continue flexing his brain muscle. About Myself

  • A pretty chill and relaxed person that's willing to help where possible, but my attention is normally divided between several things both in-game and IRL. I'm an artist that fails to find inspiration to draw in recent year, but I'm doing my best to set aside time and get back into it. Not much of a heavy conversationalist, but I would like to think that I'm a good listener. Have a work life that demands my time at usual business hours, so I attempt to cram all of my personal matters and playtime into the evening and weekends.
